Skeleton

Plug-in working in the InSpeckEM software, lets you load a 3D model with its skeleton, change its morphology and texture to obtain a human body appearance. The editor included within the plug-in lets you modify: the skeleton position, the weight repartition and the morphology in shape and texture. The result is saved in a file format supporting skeleton structure.

Project done between April 2002 and July 2002. It was developed and compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio using the MFC library in C++ to build the User Interface. The plug-in runs under Windows 95-98, Windows NT-2000-XP and uses OpenGL to draw in 3D.

Elements developed by Axialmedia:

  • Started from scratch, we designed everything
  • C++ classes to manage skeleton and its link to the 3D model
  • Two plug-In to read and write (by merging data) the FBX file format from Kaydara Inc.
  • Methods to edit bones (joints) : scale, translate, rotate and delete weights
  • Methods to attach a skeleton to a 3D model Methods to place a 3D model at the T-Position
  • Methods to refine or subdivide selected polygons by 4 (quads) or 3 (triangles), used to add more definition on the 3D mesh
  • Methods to compute the morphing (geometry and texture) on a 3D polygonal mesh
