Software developed for Environment Canada (the Canadian Environment Department). A 3D virtual world with multi-user connected simultaneously. It lets them visit and learn more about the Saint-Lawrence River in Canada. By clicking on the Play button, a 3D animation presents you the 3D world. An avatar, used as a guide, talk to you and shows you the possible sites to visit. After the visit you can move freely in the 3D world and have a look at the different films and hyper-links displayed all around the map.
Project done in March 2004. Developed and compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio using the MFC library in C++ to build the User Interface. The plug-in runs under Windows 95-98, Windows NT-2000-XP, uses Winsock32 library to connect users and uses OpenGL to draw in 3D. |
